30-year-old
club owner, Mike Eze-Nwalie Nwogu popularly known as ‘Pretty Mike’ has
complied with the directive of the Lagos State Government and Lagos
State Police Command to tender a public apology for putting two young
girls on leash and parading them at social events.
There
was a strong outrage earlier this week after the co-owner of Club Uno,
Ikeja, Lagos stormed a wedding ceremony with the same girls on dog leash
on a second time.
Social media users were of the opinion that the female folks were been dehumanized and paraded as slaves.
The Lagos State Government under the administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode swiftly effected his arrest yesterday
to curtail the act. Pretty Mike on being taken in, cooperated with the
police and signed an undertaking to desist from the act.
He also agreed to apologize to the general public which he did earlier today, 12th of January, 2017.
Read his statement as released via his Instagram account below:
"There
has been a lot of controversy over two of my outings holding some
females on a leash. I apologize to all the women and the good people of
Lagos State, Nigeria and the rest of the world who feel dehumanized by
this craft that meant well. I will use other platforms and format to
continue to create the necessary awareness...#WomenRights
