Shock as Kenyan Author and Chimamanda Adichie's Longtime Friend Reveals He is HIV Positive

A popular Kenyan author has shocked people after coming to declare that has he been infected with the deadly HIV scourge.

Binyavanga Wainaina is a Kenyan author, journalist and winner of the Caine Prize for African Writing.

 

The man is widely renowned to be one of the most respected writers in the African continient at the moment.

 

In April 2014, Time magazine included Wainaina in its annual TIME 100 as one of the "Most Influential People in the World."

 

Recently the writer shocked the world after revealing on social media that he is HIV positive.

 

He shared the information on Twitter.

 

The brilliant author, who is a long time friend of Nigerian writer Chimamanda Adichie revealed his status on Worlds Aids Day, marked yesterday, December 1.

 

 

This is not the first time Wainaina will shock fans.

  

In 2014, the 45-year-old shocked the world when he revealed that he was gay.
